Blade Runner 2049 (henceforth BR2049) was released in 2017 and directed by Dennis Villeneuve. It is the much-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 cult classic 'Blade Runner' and picks off 30 years after the events of the first film where the protagonist Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) hunts down a group of bio-engineered people called 'replicants', who have gone rogue. Blade Runner was inspired by Phillip K. Dick's novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" and, although it was not an immediate success, it is now regarded as one of the best sci-fi films of all time, which brought together a noir feel to the genre and set the tone for most sci-fi films since. 30 years later, we follow another replicant-hunter, a replicant himself, called Officer K (Ryan Gosling). He is involved with a special case that becomes closely interlinked with his own life and takes him on a quest to find Deckard, who has been missing since the events of the last film. ...
